So as I mentioned in a blog post a couple of weeks ago, I was scrolling through TikTok and I found this guy talking about additional streams of revenue and having a Shopify Dropshipping was one of them.

I took it as a challenge as I have the necessary skills to build a website and do the advertising part. What I noticed was that they never mention a timeline “How much time it will take to actually start making money”. So first thing I did was I went on YouTube and searched for ppl who where already in the business and they were talking more about timelines.

I found a couple of them that they created challenges of starting with $0 and transform it into $10k, and they did it. Major advantage for them was that they already had Instagram accounts with over 10K followers or YouTube channels with more than 1 mil subs. They all have advantages so I can say I couldn’t find any to start from 0 (no following/Subscribers or any channel that they could use to promote their new business).

July 2020 Update for

I wanted to come back with an update on this project that I started about 2 months ago. A lot has happened and a lot of things changed since I started and I had to pivot into some non brand cheap products at least for the time being.

  1. I had to remove all branded items from the shop (Funko Pop, HyperX, Logitech) as I didn’t have any licence and the distributors didn’t provide any proof as having licence to sell this items.
  2. I had a spike of High Risk orders all from Mexico which affected my Shopify account and I had to remove Shopify payments from the website.
  3. Discovered some time consuming duties that you  need to attend to (delayed orders, wrong addresses, wrong items ordered)

Overall still a good experience, I wouldn’t say I’m on profit yet, the amount I made through sales has been reinvested in advertising and brand awareness.
